Nestled in the mountain ranges of the Himalaya, Dehradun is one of the oldest cities of India.
It is situated in the northern part part of India which generally experiences cold temperatures almost throughout the year ( and I went the in December when the weather couldn't have been worse).
Anyways as I had a small winter vacation (only 10 days) we decided to go there. I always have a good picture about places, things and people initially so,
I thought it would be perfect and beautiful and much more cleaner than the city I live in.
Yes, it did turn out to be that way but besides the freezing cold weather, my journey was a bit bumpy.
We had to travel in two trains before we reached the high sloped area.
The station was so crowded and there was a rush all around (I was even afraid of losing my luggage at some points. But it was quite worth it.
We went to all kinds of markets and food places that the place had to offer.
The place was much more developed than many other places in India. It has all the branded stuff and costly places to reside in on the main big streets.
I went to one of the biggest school in Dehradun, The Cambrian Hall. It had a beautiful building and a very exciting place for students. I have to tell you, that place is all about rivers and mountains and its soothing to see such beautiful places sometimes.
I never wanted to leave (just kidding. it was too cold). I am a summer person, but I seem to be liking winter because of such places.
I also saw the Tons River there. It was such a great experience an I loved every moment of it and I can't wait to go back and see more of the exciting things there.
People from different religions stay there. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming there. Sometimes, I didn't feel like I was away from my place.
It has definitely an improved education system, proper transport and good communication system, development of that region has gained appreciable pace.
Dehradun is home for many prominent schools in the country.
Oh and, Blue buses are the main way of transport in the city. There's so comfortable and clean and travelling was so much easier while going to see higher ares and mountains
where the cars couldn't reach.
Thanks for dropping by ♥
